“Friday sees more smiles than any other day of the week.”
So there are seven days in week. Seven days! Seven days that are ours to do whatever we want to do. Seven days to try again and do better than the day before. Seven days to just be happy and live life to the best of our ability. Seven days to be great. But why do we wait all week for Friday?
So I had this thought because while at work I asked someone how they were doing and their response was, “Ugh, I cant wait for Friday.” Then I asked someone else and their response was, “Ugh, is it Friday yet?” The thing about it was this, it was only Tuesday.
So I have a question. If there are seven days of the week, why do we wait for one day, which is Friday? To some it might be Saturday or simply the weekend. But for the purpose of my thought, I’m going to use Friday. If there are seven days of the week why do we wait all week, to rush through the other six days for the one and only Friday of the week? Why?
Why do we wait for one day when we can love and enjoy the other six just as well or better? What makes us love Friday so much? Is it because it is the end of the work/school week? Is it because this is the day of a party or the day before the weekend parties and events? Now this one I personally love and enjoy lol, but is it because we want to be lazy and sit on the couch for two days and do absolutely nothing? What is it?
Disclaimer: I don’t mind waiting all week for Friday if I can be lazy on the couch and do absolutely nothing. But I also don’t need to wait until Friday for a lazy day. I enjoy lazy days on a Tuesday and Thursday also. Just saying lol. But however, that’s just me haha. So let me get back to my point. Why do we wait all week for Friday?
I think as people, as humans given the same opportunities, the same twenty four hours and seven days as people who have Fridays everyday, we need to figure out what it is that makes us happy. We need to figure out what it is about Friday that makes it the day that we all look forward to. Whatever it is that makes Friday, Friday, do that on Tuesday also. We need to do whatever will make us happy and look forward to everyday just like it is a Friday.
Most people hate the other six days because they have to do things that they don’t want to do. They have to go to work, school, do home things etc. But think about this, if you wake up every single day and you simply enjoy what you do, Every single day will be Friday. Right? Right!
Contrary to what we may believe there are people who wake up every morning and absolutely enjoy what they do. They enjoy going to work. They enjoy going to the gym. They enjoy school to learn and expand their minds. They enjoy the fruits of their labor. They simply enjoy what they do. They wake up excited about their Tuesday.
I look forward to days off, I look forward to Fridays also, but. I can wait for Friday sometimes because it only puts me closer to returning to the days that you don’t look forward to. So everything that we think, say and do is all apart of our mindset right? So how about instead of thinking of Tuesday as a Tuesday or Thursday as a Thursday, how about we look at everyday like it could be our Friday? Again easier said than done, but it’s possible.
If I am giving my opinion. I want my Friday to be everyday Sunday through Saturday. I want to look forward to everyday being the best day, and the day that I live my best life. We will miss out on so many other good days if we wait for Friday. What is 4000 Fridays of your life compared to a billion of everyday put together? A waste of a life if you ask me. Live everyday like it is Friday.
So I sat back and thought to myself, What can I do, so that everyday is a Friday to me? What can I do so that I will wake up every single day and embrace the day just like it is Friday? Each day has different meaning and things for me to do, but I want to get to a point in my life where I embrace each of them as if it is the best day ever.
So I will leave you with this question and a couple of quotes to think about. What will you start doing that will make you look forward to everyday as if it is Friday? My response is simple I will set goals towards my dreams so that I will be doing what I enjoy so that I never have to work again, or wait for Friday.
PS: Just in case you didn’t know, Tomorrow is not promised to us so live today like it is your last. It’s easier said than done sometimes when it seems like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, I know. But try and never stop trying. Cheers to Friday on a Tuesday.
