The best memories are held in Candid snapshots, while living in the moment!

“One, two, three, say cheese! Smile!” Everyone get together and lets take this picture. You here, you there, you get down, you move over, you this, you that. Then you have me the one over in the corner laughing and living in the moment .

I am always up and ready for a picture even when I look a mess because I am living. Life is not perfect neither are my pictures. Sometimes I love them sometimes I hate them. Sometimes I am smiling, sometimes I look absolutely crazy and caught off guard. But I love them all in a special way because they show that life is not planned nor perfect.

Lately I find myself living in the moment more and more. Living in the present through my lens and not through the lens of some type of technical device.

On our day to day as things go on and we partake in different types of engagements the first things I notice people do is get on their phones take picture and upload them and update their social media. That’s cool if that is what you choose to do.

Me personally I don’t update and post as I am doing things at the moment most times. Want to know why? Because I am living in the moment of what I am doing. I want to enjoy what I am doing at that moment not through my pictures later that day.

How can you really enjoy yourself when you are more worried about how a picture looks and if it is good enough to be posted? If you ask me those pictures that aren’t the absolute best are good to me because that means that you were having to much fun to notice anything else. Those “not so good pictures” show that you were having fun at the moment.

When I look back at those “Not so good pictures” I think to myself, “Damn, I must have really been having fun.” Those pictures mean that they were taken at that actual moment. Not one where everyone has to stop what they are doing to take this planned picture.

Candid pictures are my favorite pictures anyway. Those candid pictures add life to pictures. Those ones where you are laughing, talking, or acting in some way. I’d take a candid picture before a planned picture simply because you are living in the moment.

Some say oh I look crazy, I look this I look that, I say, “I am living.”

“Remember this: you only have one life to live, live in the moments of your day to day.”

I personally don’t care about looking silly or not perfect in my pictures. I care more about the moments because a picture is just a picture, and can be retaken. Once time is gone it is gone and you can never get those times and some memories back. A picture doesn’t always capture the moment the way you feel it at the moment.

Candid snapshots have a lot of story to tell. I enjoy looking at pictures where we are being silly, laughing, doing whatever caught off guard because it turns into us laughing and remembering what we were doing in the picture. We laugh at each other and reminisce about those fun moments.

So I say all of that to say this:

“Live life and love your memories, but make sure you get some unplanned memorable candid snapshots to enjoy and laugh at later!”

This is just my perspective because… I am just me, MsDraya!
