Well it’s that time of year again. Yup, school is out. Do you know what that means? Yup, your children will somehow, someway or another find a reason to work your nerves and make you believe that you really are crazy when really it is them that is crazy
This is the time of year that your children will eat you out of house and home, they eat everything. They miss nothing, they leave nothing for another day. They will discover things in your house that you didn’t even know existed. They will somehow manage to completely destroy your house in 2.5 seconds, when it only took you all school year to clean it to begin with. They will pluck every nerve in your body. They will triple your daily “Mom/Dad” count. If you normally heard “mom” or “dad” a million times a day it will now 3 million times a day. If you thought you were broke during the school year, you haven’t experienced anything at all. You will experience a whole new level of broke.
It’s during the summer time that you learn, see, and do things that add the cherry on top of everything us parents do as parents. They will thank you for it later.
But if you are like me, as much as it drives you crazy you enjoy every moment of the craziness because you know that one day they will grow up and they will run off with their friends, leaving you home alone. You will find yourself missing the craziness.
So yes, parents enjoy your crazy, chaotic, nerve wrecking, exciting, interesting, overwhelming, fun, much needed time home with your amazing, loving, cute, crazy children. Just brace yourself and remember there are other parents out there that are just as crazy as you are and/or have it worse than you.
All year you miss your children when they get on the bus or get dropped of at school and you find yourself counting down to when the bell rings for summer break because you miss them. Only to miss those school days during the summer time because as fast as they get home, they are already working your nerves. The good thing is it’s the countdown to the first day of school.
The count down to the first day of school is in full effect!
