It’s that time of year again!

Ask a teacher a question and she will get back to you. Ask a teacher how many days until summer break. I bet you they know that answer instantly.

It’s that time of year when teachers start cleaning and shutting down their classrooms preparing for that well deserved summer break.

I wonder how many people realize just how underpaid teachers really are. People think teachers just sit home during the summer and do nothing when really what they are doing is collecting a school years worth of overtime. See what you don’t know is that teachers literally cram all of the work that is usually done all year down to 9 or 10 months.

Believe it or not, for many many teachers their job doesn’t stop in the classroom. When you are sleeping and enjoying your free time, teachers are still up grading those tests, quizzes, assignments, thinking about what he or she could’ve done better, pre problem solving for tomorrow, etc. Oh and you think it stops at the educational area? Oh no, we automatically become child psychologist because we also deal with mental, physical, emotional factors for each child they come in contact with and that is alot.

Oh and I didn’t even mention how much patience a teacher needs to get through one day, just imagine how much you need to make it through a school year. Teachers deal with a million different personalities. Your children get a teachers “all” when he or she gets that summer break.

So yes of course teachers enjoy there summers off because they spend all of there time with family or doing whatever they want. But also they look forward to and want the summers off because they work extremely hard and deserve that break. We finally get to catch up on everything that we’ve missed out on all school year. We are able to get ourselves back together and recharge for the next school year.

As a teacher I too know the feeling of needing those breaks throughout the school year. Honestly my last day of school I literally ran out of the building with what seems like my entire house in my hands, on my arms, on my feet and my head. Yes, if you didn’t know teachers accumulate so much of their own personal belongings from their homes in the classroom. Not only is it summer break it’s move out time. Lol

So to you teachers everywhere enjoy your time away from school, catch up on everything that you’ve missed out on. Oh and don’t forget to set aside a huge chunk of time to do, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! You’ve worked extremely hard all year for this time off. You deserve it!

I’m sure parents around the world can agree when I say…

Dear Teachers, THANK YOU!!!😀
